Overseer Robert Ferrer is a pastor, visionary leader, author, and community builder with 12 years of pastoral leadership and more than two decades in ministry. He serves as Senior Pastor of Faith Temple Family Church in Middletown, New York, faithfully continuing the legacy of the late Bishop Samuel Simms. His ministry reflects a commitment to strengthening families, developing leaders, and serving people beyond the four walls of the church.
He and his wife, Lady Sherell Ferrer, have been married for 28 years. A singer, entrepreneur, women’s mentor, and co-author, Lady Sherell serves alongside him in ministry and community outreach. Together, they are the proud parents of 10 children and grandparents of six. Their marriage and family remain central to their message of faith, love, and legacy.
Overseer Ferrer is the author of Faith in the Fire: A Father’s Fight for Strength, Balance, and Success, a memoir sharing his personal journey of overcoming fatherlessness, navigating loss, and building a legacy rooted in faith, resilience, and leadership. He and Lady Sherell also co-authored Uncomfortable Conversations, which equips readers to engage in honest, grace-filled dialogue in relationships, church, and everyday life. Both books reflect their desire to help people grow, heal, and live with purpose.
His commitment to service also extends to his role as a chaplain with the Wallkill Police Department, where he provides spiritual and emotional support to law enforcement personnel, individuals, and families during times of need. This role builds upon his longstanding dedication to compassionate care, crisis support, and community service.
As the founder of Robert Ferrer, LLC, he established The Family Mentorship Program, a Christ-centered initiative that supports youth and families through spiritual and practical development. He also founded and serves as Program Director of a New York State licensed child care center at the church’s facility, expanding the church’s outreach by meeting the needs of children and working families.
Overseer Ferrer holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Christian Counseling and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry and Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. Drawing on approximately 30 years of experience in human services and mental health, he serves as a Christian counselor and life coach, offering guidance in grief recovery, emotional wellness, stress management, relationships, and men’s development.
Through preaching, teaching, mentorship, writing, and community outreach, Overseer Ferrer remains committed to helping people strengthen their faith and move forward with purpose. His work reflects a guiding conviction: that ministry reaches people where they are, responds to their needs, and equips them to build a lasting legacy.
